Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Mary Helen trained at Manhattan’s prestigious School of American Ballet before being invited to join with the New York City Ballet at age 16. Mary Helen danced for a decade with NYCB at Lincoln Center and on stages around the world before completing her bachelor’s degree at Columbia University and founding Ballet Beautiful. At the heart of the Ballet Beautiful method is Mary Helen’s expertise; the exquisite grace, beauty and strength that are the essence of a ballerina’s form.

Ballet Beautiful's private client list includes an impressive roster of A List celebrities, Supermodels, Victoria's Secret Angels along with countless other professionals, students and fitness enthusiasts worldwide. In addition to her experience as a professional Ballerina and fitness trainer, Mary Helen is an entrepreneur, published author and mother of two. Ballet Beautiful is inspired by Mary Helen’s passion for the art of ballet and pursuit of living a healthy and empowered life. Mary Helen’s first book is available in 5 languages, wherever books are sold. Her most recent publication, Ballet For Life by Rizzoli Books features principle photography by Inez and Vinoodh. The book provides an in depth visual illustration of the Ballet Beautiful methodology and lifestyle.
