How to Style The Ultimate Ballet Core

Ballet Core, otherwise known as ballet-inspired fashion, is having a moment and we are here for it.

Classical ballet and dancewear has been influencing Hollywood and fashion for decades. Today, that influence is going mainstream, from TikTok videos to big box retailers. Even yoga centric brands like Lululemon are now launching dance lines. It appears that ballet has, once again, captured pop culture’s imagination. Join us as we dive into how to max out your own ballet core look, whether you are working out, running errands or out on the town!

Step 1: LAYERS
Everything in dancewear is about purposeful layers, and a great leotard makes the ideal piece to build from. Based on your mood and the season at hand, start by choosing a comfortable leotard.

Galina Leotard– this gorgeous cami gives off serious vintage vibes with the crushed velvet bodice.

Grace Half-Sleeve Leotard – Old Hollywood vibes, flattering mesh sleeves and classic princess seams. This style looks great on EVERYONE!

Bridgette Halter Leotard – Sporty, playful, and ultra girly all at once. Our halter leotards will show your Swan Arms off!

Step 2: Tights optional
In warm weather, tights are entirely optional. If you are going to wear tights, ours are the best in the business; sleek, flattering and fully seamed. For a pro look, wear the tights ON TOP of the leotard.

Step 3: Wrap it up
We love a wrap top moment and from a fashion standpoint, the wrap might be more quintessentially ballet than even the leotard! Add a jersey wrap for a more sporty look. Mesh for a lighter layer that won’t make you hot and lace for a romantic look.

Step 4: Shorts or Skirts
Add some shorts or a skirt for extra dance-y vibes.  Our mesh shorts are flowy and our wrap skirts are playful, yet sweet. Mix and match depending on your mood.

Step 5:  Slippers
The final layer! A dancer’s feet complete the lines. Our Backstage Slippers give a pro look for less. Canvas is a great lightweight option and our satin slippers are, as they say, ballet aesthetic.

The above are what I’d call your ballet core basics. Choose one piece or all 5, add jeans or a dress; even heels for an authentic ballerina look.
